Room review of the Grand Swiss Sukhumvit in Bangkok

Grand Swiss Sukhumvit 11 by Compass Hospitality is located right off Sukhumvit Road and is just a few steps away from the Nana BTS Station in Bangkok. Don’t be confused when you try to Google this hotel though because it also goes by some other different names: Grand Swiss Hotel Bangkok, Hotel Grand Swiss Sukhumvit, Grand Swiss Sukhumvit, Grand Swiss Hotel, etc. At the end of the day, it’s THAT Grand Swiss at 155/23-24 Sukhumvit Soi 11.

We were lucky enough to have our room upgraded for free again during our stay in Bangkok! And, again, as always, we very much enjoyed our stay.

Screenshot map of the area to show the close proximity of the hotel to the Nana BTS station.

The hotel is literally just a few steps away from one of the BTS stations. Admittedly, walking from the hotel to the station feels like the area isn’t anywhere near like the luxurious Siam Paragon, but it’s also not seedy or shady either. For a mid-price hotel, its location is good.

For the price that we paid for, the room was surprisingly huge. And the bed was comfortably big. The room was clean and cozy.

I really appreciated the fact that the quaint hotel and rooms were nicely decorated. There was also free wifi in the room.

Nicely decorated hallway.

Room 1201.

Mini bar.

Large king-sized bed.

Vanity and large closet space.

Thai-inspired decors.

More beautiful touches of Thai interior works.

Spacious bathroom (the photo doesn’t do it justice).

The staff was friendly and delightful. We had no complaints at all from the help that we’ve received — from carrying our luggages, to checking in, to ordering some food during breakfast. They were all courteous and helpful.

No complaints on their food either. The variety of food served at the breakfast buffet was extensive — they had Thai and Continental food. The staff was also quick to replenish them quickly.

Center table showcasing an array of drinks, fruits and salads.

Bread station.

Large dining room.

Coffee station.

Front desk.

Decors and promos displayed at the lobby.

View of the lobby entrance from the elevators.

Small yet very private pool and with a view of the city.

You can opt to bring your food out to eat near the pool area.

Entrance to the pool area.

4 stars

For only $80 per night during peak season, to us, this was a good deal.

Trip: Try to request for a room upgrade particularly in a corner room and with a city view, you’ll like it!

  1. The facilites look pretty basic, but the room looks amazing. Would you return to the hotel considering the price?

    • The hotel facilities are all we need and the room and bed were really big, which were a big plus for us.

The drawback, it seems, for first time visitors, is the location, not the price. Sure, it’s really just a few steps away from a BTS station but walking to the hotel from the station and back may be stressful for some tourists, but we got used to it after a day.

And to answer your question, I’m more of an adventure type of person. I would always want to try something else even if this one’s already good enough for me. 😉
